Welcome to The Montclair Kimberley Academy, one of the largest co-educational Pre-K - 12 independent day schools in New Jersey. Located on three age-appropriate campuses, MKA offers both an exceptional education and a true sense of community. Embracing the highest academic standards, MKA attracts extremely able students, but it has none of the feelings of competitiveness that can often arise in a culture of achievement. Instead, this is a school that students, faculty, parents and alums describe as a family - a warm and supportive place where young people feel free to be themselves and to take the risks that real learning requires. 

Small classes are a hallmark of the MKA experience, and individual attention is guaranteed from a skilled and passionate faculty who are at the heart of the school's success. Thanks to a rigorous hiring process, periodic performance reviews and a commitment to innovative, ongoing faculty development, MKA teachers offer more than impressive credentials; they are experts in their fields who share and instill their love of learning, who coach, advise, nurture and inspire. The Brookside Campus, serving children in grades Pre-K - 3, provides an atmosphere of exuberant exploration in a nurturing, creative environment, distinguished by specialist teachers in science, foreign languages, art, dance, music and technology. Grades 4 - 8 are housed at the Middle School Campus, where support and challenge, freedom and discipline are balanced as students grow both personally and academically. At the Upper School Campus serving grades 9 - 12, myriad opportunities in the arts, athletics and extramurals, strong faculty-student relationships and a vibrant school spirit enhance rigorous academics and college preparation.  Long known as leaders in the field of educational technology, MKA implemented a 1:1 Laptop Learning Program for all students in grades 4-12 in the fall of 2010.

Spanning the three campuses and ensuring that the MKA community is united by shared values, skills and knowledge are 'Signature Programs' in Ethics, Writing and Core Works. These distinguish MKA's already rich curriculum and bring very real meaning to the school motto 'Knowledge, Vision, Integrity.'
